Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are living a fairytale life with their lavish getaways on private jets, their luxurious homes with multi-million dollar renovations, and staff to help with every detail, not to mention Markle’s six-figure wardrobe. However, according to a new report, the parents of Archie Harrison don’t have everything they want because the Queen squashed their dream of living at Windsor Castle.
As royal fans know, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip spend their weekends at Windsor Castle. And, according to the Sunday Times, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to live there full-time.

“The couple are understood to have set their hearts at first on Windsor Castle, and are believed to have asked the Queen if living quarters could be made available after their marriage,” reads the article.
But, instead of agreeing to the couple getting their own space inside the castle, the monarch rejected their request and gifted them Frogmore Cottage.
Royal biographer Hugo Vickers explains that the Queen most likely didn’t think it would be appropriate for a young family to live inside the castle, and it would make more sense for them to be on the castle grounds.
Frogmore Cottage was built in the 18th century for Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III. It became a special place for the Duke and Duchess after Prince Charles hosted their wedding reception at the location. And, after the Queen gave them the home, it underwent a $3 million renovation to turn the cottage into a 5-bedroom home with more privacy.

This summer, Harry and Meghan will also be visiting the Queen at her summer residence – Balmoral Castle in Scotland – just like all of the other senior members of the royal family. During the week, the family keeps it casual and relaxed, enjoying activities like horseback riding, hunting, and long walks. And on Sundays, they all dress up for church.
However, a royal insider says that Queen Elizabeth will not allow Markle to pack her boyfriend-style ripped jeans and wedge sandals for the vacation because those are two things she “hates with a passion.”

Instead, Meghan Markle will most likely wear clothing from Scottish designers when she steps out in public with the rest of the family.
